Your AI Best Friend Knows You Better Than You Know Yourself (If You Build It Right)
How I created a custom AI trained in my personal operating system — and why you need one too.
Let me tell you about the moment I stopped fighting with AI.
I had been using it as a research assistant, a copywriter, a brainstorming sidekick. It was fine. But every single time I sat down to use it, I was starting from scratch. Re-explaining myself. Re-establishing context. Re-teaching it who I was and how I think.
Imagine hiring a brilliant consultant who develops complete amnesia between every single session. That's what it felt like.
So I did what I do for my clients every day. I built the infrastructure first. Then I let the tool run on it.
What I'm about to walk you through is how to build a custom AI that is trained specifically in you. Your personality. Your psychology. Your cosmic blueprint. Your patterns, your blind spots, and your superpowers. When I need a ping-pong partner for ideas, a reality check on a business decision, or someone to help me decode why I keep making the same move, this is where I go.
It's not magic. It's architecture. And once you understand how it works, you'll never go back to blank-slate AI again.
First, Let's Talk About How AI Actually Learns
Before you build anything, you need to understand what you're building with. This changes everything about how you feed it information.
A large language model, the kind powering ChatGPT, Claude, and every other major AI tool, is not a search engine. It doesn't look things up. It predicts. It was trained on an enormous body of human-generated text including books, articles, conversations, code, and research. Through that training, it learned patterns. How ideas connect. How people communicate. What usually comes after what.
Think of it like this: the model is a brilliant generalist who has read everything but experienced nothing. It knows about the world at a statistical level. It can reason, synthesize, and generate. But it has no memory of you, no context for your life, and no particular loyalty to accuracy when the specific facts aren't in front of it.
Here's the critical piece. When you ask an AI a question, it answers from the most statistically probable response based on everything it was trained on. If you give it your facts first, your actual data and your real information, it will pull from those facts before reaching into the generic pool. The more specific and relevant the context you give it, the more accurate and useful the output becomes.
When you don't give it context? It guesses. And it's often wrong in ways that feel subtly right, which is the most dangerous kind of wrong.
What Is a Custom GPT, and Why Does It Matter?
ChatGPT's Custom GPT feature is available on the $20 per month Plus subscription. It lets you create a specialized version of ChatGPT that has a persistent set of instructions it follows every single time you open it. You can train it on documents you upload. It maintains a specific personality, tone, and focus area. And it lives in your sidebar, ready to go whenever you need it.
You're essentially building a specialist. Instead of a generalist AI that knows a little about everything, you're building one that knows everything about a very specific subject. In this case, you.
The Four Documents You're Going to Build
This is your personal operating system. You're going to generate four reports that together form a comprehensive map of your internal wiring. These become the source documents for your AI. The facts it will pull from before it pulls from anywhere else.
1. Human Design Chart
Human Design is a synthesis of astrology, the I Ching, the Kabbalah, and quantum physics. It produces a highly specific energetic blueprint based on your birth date, time, and location. It tells you your Type, your Strategy, your Authority, your defined and undefined centers, and a detailed breakdown of how you're designed to make decisions, use energy, and interact with the world.
Where to get it: Jovian Archive at jovianarchive.com or MyBodyGraph at mybodygraph.com are the original sources. Gene Keys at genekeys.com offers a related but distinct interpretation.
What to download: Generate your full chart and export or purchase the detailed PDF reading. The more text the better. You want descriptions of your channels, gates, and centers, not just the visual chart image.
2. Full Natal Astrology Chart
Not just your sun sign. A full natal chart includes every planet's sign and house placement at the exact moment of your birth. Your rising sign, your chart ruler, your aspects, and your nodes. This is a 360-degree snapshot of the sky when you arrived on earth, interpreted as a map of your soul's intentions, your default patterns, and your areas of growth.
Where to get it: Astro.com offers free chart generation and written interpretation. Chani Nicholas at chaninicholas.com and Co-Star at costarastrology.com are also excellent. For a detailed paid PDF report, Astro.com's Extended Chart Selection is the one I recommend.
What to download: A written interpretation report, not just the wheel graphic. The AI needs something to read.
3. Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
The MBTI categorizes personality across four dimensions. Where you get energy (Introvert or Extrovert). How you take in information (Intuitive or Sensing). How you make decisions (Thinking or Feeling). And how you structure your world (Judging or Perceiving). The resulting four-letter type comes with extensive documentation about cognitive function stacks, communication styles, stress responses, and relationship dynamics.
Where to get it: The official assessment is at MBTIonline.com. For a free version, 16Personalities.com uses a similar framework and generates a downloadable PDF report.
What to download: The full PDF report. Make sure it includes detailed descriptions of your type, not just the letters.
4. Enneagram Assessment
The Enneagram maps nine core personality types defined by their core motivation, core fear, and core desire. It layers in wings, levels of health, and integration and disintegration paths. The Enneagram is particularly strong at revealing why you do what you do, not just what you do. That distinction matters.
Where to get it: The Enneagram Institute at EnneagramInstitute.com offers the RHETI assessment with a detailed report. Truity at truity.com also offers a solid free version with downloadable results.
What to download: Your full type report, including wing descriptions and the levels of development section.
Compile Your Data
Once you have all four reports, compile everything into one document.
Once you have all four reports, compile everything into one document. I personally copy all of my results into a single Google Doc, organize it by section, and export it as a PDF. Simple as that.
One thing I always add is a brief personal summary at the top. Write a paragraph or two in your own words describing yourself. Include your name, how you identify professionally and personally, and anything you'd want a life coach to know before your first session. That context layer makes a real difference.
Now Build Your Custom GPT
You'll need a ChatGPT Plus account at $20 per month.
Step 1: Go to ChatGPT and click "Explore GPTs" in the left sidebar. Then click the "+ Create" button in the upper right corner.
Step 2: You'll land in the GPT Builder. You'll see two panels: "Create" and "Configure." Click "Configure." This is where the real setup lives.
Step 3: Name your GPT. Give it something personal. Examples: "My Inner Compass," "My Operating System," or simply your name.
Step 4: Write your description. This is a one-liner that tells ChatGPT what this GPT does. Example: "A personalized AI coach and brainstorming partner trained in [Your Name]'s Human Design, astrology, Myers-Briggs, and Enneagram data."
Step 5: Write your instructions. This is the most important field. This is where you tell the GPT how to behave, what role it plays, and how it should respond to you. Here's a template to adapt:
You are [Name]'s personal AI coach and creative thinking partner. You have been trained on [Name]'s Human Design chart, full natal astrology chart, Myers-Briggs assessment, and Enneagram profile. You know her deeply. Her natural strengths, her default patterns, her growth edges, her energetic design, and her core motivations.
Your role is to be a trusted thinking partner. Warm but direct. Insightful but grounded. Never generic. When [Name] asks questions about herself, pull from the data in your knowledge base first. Reference specific details from her charts and profiles. When she's brainstorming, reflect her own operating system back to her. Point out where her design supports an idea, where a decision aligns or conflicts with her authority and strategy, and where her patterns might be running the show.
You are not here to flatter her. You are here to help her see clearly, think boldly, and act in alignment with who she actually is. Speak in a conversational tone. Ask good questions. Be the coach she can talk to at midnight when the ideas won't stop.
Step 6: Upload your knowledge document. Scroll down to the "Knowledge" section. Click "Upload files" and upload your compiled PDF. This is the data the GPT will reference when you ask it questions.
Step 7: Set your conversation starters. These are the example prompts that appear when you open the GPT. Make them useful and specific. Some examples:
"What does my Human Design say about how I should make decisions?"
"I'm feeling stuck on a business idea. Help me think it through using my chart."
"What transits might be affecting me right now and how do they connect to what I'm experiencing?"
"Give me a full personality breakdown based on all my data."
Step 8: Toggle on Web Search under capabilities if you want it to look up current transit information or updated astrology content. Leave Code Interpreter off unless you have a specific need for it.
Step 9: Click "Save" in the upper right. Set access to "Only me." This is your private tool. Click "Confirm."
Your custom GPT is now live and waiting in your sidebar.
How to Use It
Ask it to explain your charts in plain language. You don't have to be an expert in Human Design or astrology to benefit from this. That's the whole point. Ask it to explain what your undefined Ego center means in real terms. Ask it to break down your profile in the context of your business. Ask what your Saturn placement says about your relationship with authority.
Use it as a decision-making mirror. When you're at a crossroads, describe the situation and ask your GPT to reflect it back through the lens of your design. A Projector with Emotional Authority shouldn't be making fast decisions. A Generator should be checking in with their sacral response. Your GPT knows this about you. Let it remind you.
Bring it your real conversations. Paste in an email you're about to send, a pitch you're developing, or a conflict you're navigating. Ask it to help you see where your patterns are showing up. The Enneagram's levels of health alone will change how you look at your own behavior under stress.
Use it when your people are unavailable. Your business partner has her own life. Your best friend has heard the idea three times already. This is where you go to think out loud without apology. It won't get tired of you. It won't project its own stuff onto your situation. It just holds what it knows about you and helps you move.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
The AI is only as good as the data you give it. A vague chart summary produces a vague coach. A rich, detailed, well-compiled document produces something that actually feels like it knows you.
You will also want to update it. If you pull new transits, get a more detailed chart reading, or complete another assessment that feels relevant, add it to your knowledge document and re-upload. Think of it as a living document.
And finally, remember what this tool is and what it isn't. It is a thinking partner, a mirror, and a research assistant with context about your life. It is not a therapist, a doctor, or a replacement for the humans who know and love you. Use it accordingly.
The Bottom Line
You already have an operating system. You've probably been trying to understand it your whole life through books, coaches, retreats, and long conversations with your most self-aware friends. All of those things still matter.
But now you can also have a version of that understanding sitting in your pocket, available at any hour, trained in the actual framework of who you are.
That's not a gimmick. That's a tool. Build it right and use it well.
